The Barton Heritage Project

The Barton Heritage Project is an exciting new project funded by the UK SPF (Shared Prosperity Fund) as part of their Levelling Up programme. The project aims to increase heritage tourism to Barton Upon Humber through a number of events and initiatives such as educational programmes and interactive cultural experiences.

Work is underway on elevating the project in 2024 so be sure to keep a close eye out on local media for exciting announcements and updates.

We’re now looking for volunteers to help deliver this project, if you’re interested please email bartonvolunteers@the-ropewalk.co.uk

Gardening Day – May 15

Our popular Gardening Day was again a great success with around 1000 visitors. Plans are already in place for next year's event.

National Thank You Day – June 5

We could think of no better way to say a heartfelt “thank you” to all the volunteers who answered our call for help during the past two years of the Covid pandemic by hosting an afternoon tea party as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations on the final day of the Jubilee weekend. The tea party was held in the Estuary Room on the afternoon of Sunday, June 5, which is also “National Thank You Day”.

Classic Car Day - June 26

Our first Classic Car Day, sponsored by Dennis Vessey Classic Car Services was a sparkling event, with The Ropewalk Promenade filled with dozens of vehicles from yesteryear with polished bodywork and gleaming chrome.
